I feel honoured to write this message to congatulate my junior colleagues at the eve of upcoming 6th convocation of Gujranwala Medical College. The students and doctors who will be receiving degrees, awards, and prizes today are Pakistan's investment capital for building a better tomorrow. You are the cream with the natural endowment, skills, and knowledge needed to bring transformation throughout Pakistan's health system. You are a leading light, and much more, you are a symbol of nation's aspirations.
As you receive your degrees, awards, and prizes, your years of concenfrated study and learning are now formally transformed into the start of especially promising careers. Opportunities will open and you will make a number of choices.You will experience some setbacks and surprises, and probably bouts of self-doubt. You will be wrong sometimes, but eventually right more often than not, as you will never stop learning, I am sure. May all your dreams come frue. May all my best wishes speed you on your way.
Department of Paediatric Medicine at GMC/DHQ-Teaching Hospital Gujranwala currently consists of 97 beds, including a Nursery and HDU, serving almost a population of 4.5 million. Our mission is to expand the frontiers of Paediatric Clinical Care, Trainee (both undergraduate and postgraduate) Education and Pediatric related research, as we strive for excellence, creativity and innovation. Reflecting our "move forward" attitude, we are actively expanding our infrasfructure, clinical care and fraining programmes. One of our major goals is to train the next generation ofclinicians and leaders in the field of Paediatrics. Gujranwala Medical College, established in 2011, has made tremendous progress and has delivered a distinctive model of medical education and research along with delivery of standard health services. Collectively, our dedicated staff, trainees and faculty will, Insha Allah, continue the ascent of Gujranwala Medical College.
