The department was established in 1995 with two beds allocated in surgical ward which increased gradually to the present strength of 54 beds in 2017. It was initially non-teaching but since 2014 it has developed in a teaching department under leadership of the worthy Ex Principal Prof. Dr. Aftab Mohsin. With the marvelous effort of worthy Principal Prof. Dr. Maroof Aziz Khan our department is upgraded and we are performing all kinds of Orthopedic surgeries ( Including Trauma, Non Union, Orthoepists, Sports medicine, Pediatric Orthopedics and Tumor surgeries). Now we are not referring any trauma patient to Lahore. Staff members consist of 07 consultants, 22 post graduate residents, 2 MOs, and 2 WMOs. We work in 5 teams in four work stations i.e. OPD, emergency OT, Indoor and elective operation theater. We operate almost 200 major cases per month and our OPD patients almost 8000 monthly. Our objectives to achieve are high quality and safe health care service delivery for all, especially for the poor and deprived community of Gujranwala region and to get the facility approved by University of Health Sciences for training of MS Orth. and College of Physicians and Surgeons for FCPS Orth. postgraduate Students.

Moreover we wish to provide effective and efficient delivery of education, patient treatment services and teaching expertise through competent task based management, full participation, cooperation, confidence, teamwork and innovation.
