Delivery of quality health care is the prime responsibility of a health facility. Patient satisfaction is of utmost importance . With this rationale , DHQ hospital was established in Gujranwala . Department of Medicine forms an important part of spectrum of health care system . Medical ward 6 ( Unit 2 ) is a 30 bedded facility providing round the clock indoor service . A six bedded high dependency unit is part of the ward with facilities of cardiac monitoring and oximetry. Outdoor clinics and emergency services are covered thrice a week.

Outdoor clinics serve two hundred patients approximately in one session .

To inculcate humanistic approach among doctors , patient welfare flind has been established in unit . Till 2010 , unit was managed by district physicians and medical officers . Since the establishment of Gujranwala Medical College , unit has the privilege of having teaching faculty. At present , unit has professor , associate and assistant professors along with senior registrar . Since 2014 , the unit is recognised for post graduate training in medicine . Regular mortality / morbidity meetings , case based discussions , hands on training of clinical skills and journal club meetings are part of post graduate training . Two residents have passed intermediate module in first attempt . The unit has become a matter of pride for every member of the team . Our mission is to provide exemplary and quality health care .
