Cardiology Department of DHQ/Teaching Hospital is the heart of this institution. It consists of 50 beds. Out of them 30 beds are equipped with multi-parameter cardiac monitors and central oxygen. Our department is equipped with 4 Defibrillators, 6 ECG machines,

Temporary Pace Maker and also has the facilities of Exercise Tolerance Test and Echocardiography Departmental and Bed side. Cardiology Unit consists of four wards for indoor patients. All four rooms have been refurbished with best facilities for in-door patient care. This unit caters 24/7 emergency and daily OPD. Almost 4500 patients are admitted and more than 60000 patients visit OPD per annum. In addition to that, almost 

70-100 patients visit emergency daily. It also covers all other departments of this institution in case of cardiac emergencies. This department is headed by Dr. Muhammad Shahid Mughal, Associate Professor of Cardiology. He has almost 20 year experience in field of cardiology. Other team members are one district cardiologists, registrar, eight medical officers and 10-15 of house officers. Department is recognized for house job by PMC. This unit is one of the best cardiac units in all district hospitals ofPunjab. Patient's turnover is much more than the capacity of this unit and has almost doubled over the past 2-3 years. We work as a team for the best patient care and health in our unit to better serve the needy community. Our mission is to be humble to serve the community. This department has been recognized and accredited with University of Health Sciences, Lahore for MD Cardiology. This department is flourishing under the leadership of worthy Principal Prof. Maroof Aziz Khan and M.S. Dr. Sohail Anjum Butt.

VISION:

To establish a new department/wardto better accommodate the patients with latest facilities of interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery.

DREAM:

To convert this department into Institution of Cardiology of international repute and standards with state of the art facilities for all sub-specialties of Cardiology including fully equipped Interventional Cardiology, Pediatric Cardiology, Adult Cardiac Surgery, Pediatric Cardiac Surgery and all diagnostic Cardiac procedure.

Well come to the department of Radiology DHQ/Teaching Hospital Gujranwala. As Assistant Professor and Head of Department, I am honored to write progress report of our department with utmosteffectand struggle of my team including Dr. Safia Ashraf Assistant Professor, WMO's, PGR's, Technicians and Paramedics. The department of Diagnostic Radiology and Medical imaging become state of the art department duly recognized for FCPS from CPSP and MD MS from UHS and PMDC/PMC with mission to expand the boundaries.

Diagnostic Radiology is back bone of all discipline with provision of indoor and outdoor services in MRI, CT scan, Digital X-Ray, Mammography,Doppler ultrasound, interventional studies and 24/7 emergency cover in ultrasound, CT scan and X-Rays leading to increase turnout of patients per annum for e.g in 2021 the number of patients done in following modalities are MRI 7371, CT Scan 25455, Ultrasound 77938 and X-Rays 154899. Our training includedaily lectures,case presentation / discussion and rotation in various department. This report highlights our coordinated effort in implementing our vision and reaching over major goals to trainour next generation. I am truly working together with my radiology team to shift our focus on quality rather than quantity. Our mission is contribute to heath care through integrated teaching, education, diagnostic service and research.l am honored to supervise the in developing department of Radiology in newly built Gujranwala Medical college Hospital Gujranwala with latest technology machines including 128 slice CT scan, MRI, advanced mammography and interventional fluoroscopic machines.
