Department of pulmonology DHQ Gujranwala was established in 1986 and comprised of 19 beds which includes male, female and asthma wards. The department is headed by Dr. Muhammad Younus. We daily cater 250 to 300 patients in OPD which are of different chest diseases like Tuberculosis, Asthma, COPD, Bronchiectasis, Interstitial lung disease, Bronchogenic carcinoma and Pneumonia. This department has its own lab which performs sputum for AFB and Gene Xpert for the diagnosis of Tuberculosis. Department had TB DOTS program for diagnosis and treatment of Tuberculosis and separate unit for the diagnosis and treatment of multi drug resistant tuberculosis. We perform pulmonary fttnction tests on latest spirometer, Spirolabon daily basis. Department of Pulmonology is equipped with latest video Bronchoscope for the diagnosis of different lung diseases. This department is recognized for the training of FCPS and MCPS in Pulmonology by College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan and for MD Pulmonology by University of Health Sciences.
